As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun. This year with our Mini Comets program we did just that as we say goodbye to another fantastic season and look forward to what's coming up in the fall.
We saw over 260 registrations with our program last season and every year we feel so very blessed and lucky to be able to create and deliver our programming to so many extraordinary children in our community.
As a program, we continue to gain inspiration for new ideas by reflecting on our previous year, hearing from our families and of course by observing your children as they interact and engage in their sessions. Every year I also say "we need to start recording the amazing things our swimmers say and put it into a book". We have always believed our roles as coaches puts us in the presence of greatness with every minute we spend with your children.
When planning this season, we made a few small changes in our 8-week sessions that will align more smoothly with an extended pool closure, as last year we were unable to start our program as scheduled. Our first session is always one of our most popular and starting the season off well is good for everyone.
Program additions this fall will include more tools (equipment) for our coaches to utilize to enhance learning and engagement. Every session will host a Festival for swimmers to participate in and show off their skills to Moms, Dads and Grandparents. Theme days have always been a favorite amongst our participants, so we will add more this year outside of our holiday themed sessions to keep kids excited, ready to have fun and learn!
Our testimonial program was wildly successful and we will offer it again this year. Winning testimonials receive a 50 percent discount on a future Mini Session! We will also offer a program for families who would love to participate but struggle financially to be able to join us. We know swimming can be an expensive sport and we also know finding ways to remove financial barriers benefits everyone involved. This program will allow families to submit nominations to our website for consideration for our 2, 3 and 4th session this season. Look for more details on that coming soon.
Also on offer will be the return of our Coffee with your Coaches event with each 8 week session. With low attendance in previous years, we paused this offering, but we had a quick impromtu event for this last session. It was so great to connect with parents and chat face-to-face about a program we are so passionate about. Additional opportunities for our Mini Coaches to connect with parents is so valuable for their professsional development.
Over the next couple of days we will be adding the new session dates and more information to the website in anticipation of our registration opening this Friday at 9am! We will open registration to site members first then offer to the public on June 26, 2024. We hope to see you this fall!
