Celebrating a great season, hearts forward, getting ready for 2026-2027

The end of each season is always bittersweet. We are excited to welcome summer, but we are also sad to say goodbye to the special people who have brought us so much joy throughout the year. We end this season on another high note, with a record number of swimmers and the fastest-filling program registration we have seen in our history.

Over the years, our program has grown and evolved as the demands on young families have continued to increase. Sports programs can no longer be a one-size-fits-all structure that expects families and children to conform to. The more we learn about how children grow — not only physically, but socially and emotionally — the more we understand the importance of adapting to the individual needs of our participants and their families.

Swimming has increasingly become an early specialization sport, meaning children are often asked to commit more hours in the pool at younger and younger ages. Over time, this can make it difficult for them to participate in other sports, explore different interests, or simply have the space to rest.

For our Mini Comets swimmers, trying new sports and activities is something we encourage and support. Offering families the flexibility to join us for any number of sessions gives families the space to choose what works best for their children. Sometimes that means swimming with us all year. Sometimes it means taking a session off to try something new, enjoy another sport, or simply take a break.

Fun and learning cannot be mutually exclusive. When they exist together, great things happen. A love for sport can grow and long-term friendships can be born. Confidence, belonging, and joy can take root, and families can feel confident they've placed their children in a program that will embrace and empower them.

We also know that exploring other sports and activities enriches the lives of children and their families. When the fun runs out and enjoyment begins to decline, children can leave sport altogether — often at a time in their lives when sport can offer them connection, confidence, belonging, and safety. Finding balance before burnout becomes an important part of helping children learn how to show up for themselves, so they may succeed in their endeavors beyond the pool.

Young families hold a very special place in our hearts, and we feel incredibly blessed to be part of this season of your child’s life. In every child, we see a parent’s hope to give them opportunities to learn, grow, feel confident, and be happy. No matter what life looks like outside the pool, we will always be ecstatic and overjoyed to welcome every child who joins us.

Thank you for trusting us with your children, for sharing your families with us, and for allowing us to be part of their journey. We hope to see you again in October when our 2026-2027 season begins and we can make more amazing memories, together!
